The NO₂ data product contains geolocated column integrated NO₂ concentrations. Specifically, three products are provided, i.e. the tropospheric vertical column density, the stratospheric vertical column density, and the total vertical column density. The NO₂ ECV data provides geophysical information for each and every ground pixel observed by GOME, SCIAMACHY, OMI, GOME-2A, and GOME-2B, without the additional binning, averaging or gridding typically applied for Level 3 data. In addition to vertical NO₂ columns, the product contains intermediate results, such as the result of the spectral fit, fitting diagnostics, the averaging kernel, cloud information, and algorithm and product error estimates.
Note: The processing chains described here relate to an existing NO₂ product and not the product which is to be generated as part of the QA4ECV project.
